Stash or Pass
A simple portfolio discovery tool that helps users review websites quickly, save the best ones, and build a curated collection of inspiration instead of losing good ideas in endless tabs and bookmarks.

Stash or Pass is a portfolio discovery tool I built to make finding inspiration less messy and more intentional. While exploring portfolio websites for ideas, I often ended up with too many tabs open, scattered bookmarks, and no clear way to remember which websites actually stood out. I wanted a simpler system that would help me quickly review portfolios, save the best ones, and move on without losing momentum.
Why I Built It
A big part of building a great portfolio is studying what already works. The problem is that inspiration hunting on the web can quickly become chaotic, especially when you are jumping from one portfolio to another and trying to remember what made each one interesting.
I built Stash or Pass to solve that problem for myself first. I wanted a lightweight experience that would make portfolio discovery feel fast, focused, and organized instead of turning into a pile of tabs and forgotten links.
How It Works
The concept is simple and easy to use:
- Browse portfolio websites one by one.
- Decide whether to stash a portfolio or pass on it.
- Keep the best references in one place.
- Return to saved examples later when working on your own portfolio.
This simple flow makes the process more intentional. Instead of endlessly browsing, users can make quick decisions and gradually build a curated collection of strong portfolio references.
How It Helps Users
Stash or Pass helps users find good inspiration by reducing the friction involved in discovery and saving. Rather than relying on random bookmarks or memory, users can focus on quickly identifying what feels useful, interesting, or well-designed.
It is especially helpful for people who want to:
- Discover strong portfolio examples faster.
- Save high-quality inspiration in one organized place.
- Study layouts, presentation styles, and design choices.
- Compare different approaches before building their own site.
- Build a personal inspiration library they can revisit anytime.
